Update

Well yesterday we signed the buy-seller agreement, and today we met with our mortgage broker to sign a whole bunch more paperwork. The inspections and appraisal are now being set up and will be taking place next week--and then we will go from there! If all goes well, then we will just have a few minor repairs that we can take care of prior to our closing date (Aug 27). Wish us luck!!

So here's a little tour for those who are not in Wenatchee to actually see the house. Please excuse my lame layout drawings, just trying to make it easier to understand the layout! We found this forclosure home in Wenatchee: 5bed, 3bath, 2750sq ft on a 1/3 of an acre...asking price $189,900. It's a total fixer upper. We haven't shopped around too much other than the internet, so I felt we were rushing into things until I saw the inside. It does not smell good or look great right now, but I immediately saw the potential. The exterior is beautiful, like a house from a movie. Yard needs some fixing up and the garage and such. The inside needs a ton of work. We decided to place an offer. After a week of adjusting against a couple other offers, ours was accepted!! I don't think it has all sunk in yet with me. I guess it doesn't seem real yet. Now we need to pass inspection to secure our loan, and make sure all the necessary repairs can be done before closing with out increasing the price by too much!
